Allied's Balance and Vestibular Rehabilitation Program

 

Allied Medical & Rehabilitation is proud of their Balance & Vestibular Rehabilitation Program.  Allied Medical & Rehabilitation offers a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of all balance and vestibular disorders.  Our program is designed to decrease the symptoms associated with vertigo (a sudden spinning or whirling sensation) and dizziness (a loss of your sense of orientation or feeling imbalanced).  We are also able to help increase safety by improving balance (especially for frequent fallers) and enhance patient's visual following and tracking problems.

 
Are you a candidate for our program?
 
You are if you have been diagnosed with or suffer from these conditions:
  • History of falls
  • Lightheadedness, imbalance, or motion induced nausea
  • Frequent headaches and migraines
  • Double vision, light sensitivity
  • Difficulty driving, reading or thinking
  • BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo)
  • Peripheral Vestibular Disorders including labrynthitis, vestibular neuritis, acoustic neuroma resection, ototoxity (ear poisoning)
  • Post-concussion syndrome or head trauma
  • Neurological disorders including stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease
 
What Treatments and Procedures do we provide?
 
Our program offers:
  • Frequent Falls and Balance Assessment
  • Brandt & Daroff Exercises for BPPV
  • Epley's Maneuver for BPPV
  • Semont's Maneuver for BPPV
  • Gaze Stabilization exercises
  • Cawthorne Cooksey exercises
  • General conditioning exercises
 
Patients are seen for an initial evaluation and if your case is accepted you will be treated 2 to 3 times to see if any of your symptoms improve. You will then be re-evaluated and we will discuss any further care if necessary If you desire communication with your personal physician this will also be carried out. You will also be given  an individualized home exercise program to help speed recovery.
